Why should we Pray for Peace?

In 1917, Our Lady told the children of Fatima to pray for the conversion of Russia. As a child, I remember that the priest would end Mass by saying: "For the conversion of Russia." Then we would pray an Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be. Those prayers were heard in Heaven and answered when the Bible and religious worship was again allowed in Russia.

The Roman Catholic Church does not officially recognize or deny the miracles that started in 1981 in Medjugorje, Yugoslavia. At that time, Our Blessed Mother reportedly appeared to six young children in a field near their homes. Since then, there have been many more apparitions reported by the six visionaries. Mary's message to these children and to the world could not be clearer. She asks us to Pray-Pray-Pray and to Pray for Peace.

It is time that we did so, and in a way similar to the message of Fatima. This is why I ask for your help in this matter:

Ask your parish priests to pray for Peace in the World by including this with the intercessions announced at every Mass during the Prayers of the Faithful.

Pray for those who are fighting for their independence in Egypt, Lybia and other areas in the mideast. Pray that there will be a peaceful solution to these dilemmas and that stable governments will be formed which will recognize the rights of each person who lives there.

Another Example of why we MUST pray our Daily Prayer Every Day !

KABUL, Afghanistan Sept 20, 2011— A suicide attacker with a bomb in his turban posed as a Taliban peace envoy and assassinated a former Afghan president who for the past year headed a government council seeking a political settlement with the insurgents.

Tuesday's attack, carried out in former President Burhanuddin Rabbani's Kabul home, dealt a harsh blow to attempts at ending a decade of war. The killing of Rabbani, an ethnic Tajik and one of the wise old men of Afghan politics, will blunt efforts to keep in check the regional and ethnic rivalries that help feed the insurgency.

This tactic makes NO SENSE !

The creators of these web pages are of the Roman Catholic Faith. If you are of another Faith, please pray to your own Creator that there will be Peace on Earth. We all live on the same planet, and we must strive to get along in peace no matter what our religious orientation.

NOTE: It may seem that these web pages refer to the miracles that have been taking place in Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina as much as they discuss praying for peace. Since Mary, the Queen of Peace, has given messages to the world that are tied so closely to this aim, it is difficult to separate the two. By hearing what She is saying to us, it is hoped that you will understand why it is so important that we PRAY FOR PEACE.
